Description

This pillow is a re-worked part of an åkdyna from southwestern Skåne. It’s marked 1801 or 1810. The original åkdyna is at Malmö Museum. Tvistsöm isn’t geometrical or symmetrical at all, but can be embroidered freely with rounded shapes. This is a great example of that.

The materials package includes: specialized tvistsöm embroidery ground in cotton, wool yarn, paper pattern, stitch description, color image, and needle. Fabric for the backing is not included but broadcloth and wadmal can be ordered from our shop. Yarn for the fringe is not included, we suggest you use leftover yarn or order separately from us.
