Description
Information about the origin is lacking, but the pattern suggests that it comes from southwestern Skåne. The cushion, which is in the collections at Landskrona Museum, is marked 1825 BLD ILRB. It’s imaginatively embroidered with plenty of funny details in the motif, stitching, and color combinations. The edging is a fringe woven of small fabric strips, mostly silk, and there are fabric tassels. The backing on the original is a woven fabric with wool weft, striped in yellow, brown, and blue. This is not included. The fabric is black.
Embroidered using one-sided satin stitch, stem stitch, long and short stitch, latticework, herringbone stitch, cross stitch, and French knots.
The materials package contains: pre-drawn wool fabric, wool yarn, a paper pattern, a color image, stitch descriptions, and a needle.
Fabric for the backing is not included but broadcloth and wadmal can be ordered from our shop. Fabric for the tassels is not included, we suggest you reuse old textiles or order small remnants of broadcloth and wadmal from us.
