Description
This jynne has a motif from the middle of an åkdyna from Torna. It’s marked ÅR 1827. Biblical motifs are common in wool embroideries from the Torna-Bara-Oxie area. The madonna motif can be found on a number of cushions and the model for this one must have been a printed pattern, a so-called kistebrev. The fabric is blue.
Embroidered using one-sided satin stitch, long and short stitch, stem stitch, latticework, free cross-stitch and French knots.
The materials package contains: pre-drawn wool fabric, wool yarn, a paper pattern, a color image, stitch descriptions, and a needle. Fabric for the backing is not included but broadcloth and wadmal can be ordered from our shop. Yarn for the fringe is not included, we suggest you use leftover yarn or order yarn separately from our shop.
