Description
The red lion is one of the most popular motifs in Skånsk tapestry. The lion is considered lucky and protective, symbolizing strength, worldly power, and manliness. The earliest dated weaving with the lion motif is a coverlet from Everlöv, woven in 1772.
The materials package contains: wool yarn for the weft and a paper pattern. Warp yarn is not included but can be ordered from our shop. We recommend linen 20/3 for Scanian tapestry. Wool for the backing and down pillow can also be ordered from our shop.
