Description
This is a resplendent wedding cushion from Oxie. It’s marked ANNO 1804 SHS CMD BSD. The original backing is red, and it has fabric tassels at the corners. The crowned lion can also be seen on the national coat of arms. The lion represents manliness and strength. Both women–brides–stand under a crowned bow of flowers. The men in the border, dressed in uniform and with plumes on their heads, ride on deer and roosters. The original can be found at Kulturen in Lund. Embroidered on black fabric. Some details are embroidered with linen yarn.
Embroidered using one-sided satin stitch, stem stitch, and French knots.
The materials package contains: pre-drawn wool fabric, wool yarn, a paper pattern, a color image, stitch descriptions, and a needle.
Fabric for the backing is not included but broadcloth and wadmal can be ordered from our shop. Fabric for the tassels is not included, we suggest you reuse old textiles or order small remnants of broadcloth and wadmal from us.
