Description
his red coverlet from Frosta is similar to a few other surviving examples. It’s marked IOS BÅD 1833. If there was money, time, and ability, one or more of these coverlets would be included in the bride’s dowry. At least seven embroidered coverlets, mostly from Gärds and Frosta, have been embroidered from the same model. The oldest we know about is from 1821.
The materials package contains: pre-drawn wool fabric, wool yarn, a paper pattern, a color image, stitch descriptions, and a needle.
