Rölakan
Rölakan is one of the classic art weaving techniques of Skåne, along with krabbasnår, halvkrabba, dukagång, and 0pphämta.
Pattern shapes that are common in rölakan weaving include: the Star, the Rose, the Octagon, the Bird, the Lily, the Tree, and the Hourglass. Rölakan was used to weave bench cushions, åkdynor (a cushion/pillow for riding in carriages), pillows, and coverlets. It is woven with a linen warp and wool weft. The weft is laid in by hand, and woven with the backside facing the weaver.
