Paradiset

Description

This åkdyna is marked KND ANO 1803. Biblical motifs such as these are common. In the middle, we see Adam and Eve at the Tree of Knowledge with a deer on one side (symbolizing spiritual power and womanliness) and a lion on the other (symbolizing worldly power and manliness). To the right is “creation”, where Eve emerges from Adam lying on the ground. To the left, the banishment from Paradise and the Angel with the Sword. The original cushion has a red backing, fringe on the edges, and tassels of silk strips at the corners. The cushion pictured is embroidered using colors taken from the front of the faded original. The back side shows stronger colors. The materials kit contains these stronger, clearer colors. Embroidered using cable stitch, one-sided satin stitch, stem stitch, cross stitch, and French knots. The materials package contains: pre-drawn wool fabric, wool yarn, a paper pattern, a color image, stitch descriptions, and a needle.

Fabric for the backing is not included but broadcloth and wadmal can be ordered from our shop. Yarn for the fringe is not included, we suggest you use leftover yarn or order yarn separately from our shop.
